What is this game?

How many players? 3+ players

When does it land? Friends with shared history, any point of the evening

Most question games ask about you. This one asks about the person next to you, because the card names two players and the first answers a question about the second. It gets good when the versions do not match, since one remembers the evening as an adventure and the other as a disaster.

Rules

  1. Enter everyone playing and let the card pick the pair
  2. The first answers about the second, out loud and without dodging
  3. The second then adds their own version of the same story
  4. The table gets one follow-up question, not five
  5. After that the card picks a new pair and it starts again

Cards from the set

How else can you play?

  1. Without drinking, nothing changes, the game runs on stories rather than on forfeits
  2. For two, every card is about the two of you, so the evening turns into comparing memories
  3. From eight people, put a minute on the clock, otherwise one story eats half the evening
  4. With a new group, stay on the first-impression cards, they are safe and they land quickly

Advice for the host

  1. Read the names as written, swapping who answers whom kills the point of the card
  2. The second version matters, ask for it every time, even when everyone is already laughing
  3. If a pair repeats, keep it, the second question about the same two is sharper

Questions about this game

What if people do not know each other well?

Then stay on the first-impression cards. Questions about a shared past need a shared past, so save those for the group that has one.

Who picks the pair?

The card does, and that is the whole trick. Nobody can aim a question at a particular person, so nothing at the table feels targeted.

Does it work for two?

Yes, and differently. Every card becomes a question about the two of you, which turns the game into a long conversation rather than a round.

Can I play in the browser?

Yes. This page uses two stand-in names so you can see how the cards read, and the app pulls real names from your own friend list.
